And the Doritos creatures are members of the "Armadillidiidae", large ocean floor dwelling woodlouse / , pillbug thingies of the sub-phylum Crustacea - isopoda. Can't find a decent picture from the top, but here's a Google image from underneath which shows the scale link --Paul M.

In case you're still drawing a blank on it, this is from my brother (marine biology teacher, retired). athynomus giganteus....giant marine isopod. Here are a couple of links for you: link 1 link 2

Hi Teresa,
The genus Bathynomus is correct, but several species have been named in the genus recently, so I don't know if they are Bathynomus giganteus. They are deep sea isopods (related to terrestrial pillbugs), which may be more than a foot long.
